This is one of the few good things that came out of my Paris residency of ’93/’94. For some reason, I couldn’t figue oue what to paint but I was able to dumpster dive for compelling artiifacts. The beaded elements belonged to one of the cirty’s many cemetaries and it’s common to fird tin letters in a Parisian dumpster.
Among the French it’s common to garnish the grave of a fallen daughter, sister or cousin with the words, “Á Ma Fille.” In English, it means, To My Girl.
